Experience the Tel Aviv of the 1930s

Overlooking one of Tel-Aviv’s best beaches, the newly opened Herods Tel Aviv Hotel is an experience not to be missed. This luxury concept hotel has been modeled on ‘Tel Aviv in the 1930s’ – with the ambience, fashion and style of those early days.

You won’t recognize the former Leonardo Plaza Hotel building because it’s been completely transformed. The leisurely 1930s atmosphere greets you wherever you turn. In the lobby, an old-style boulevard with trees on both sides leads you directly to the Tel Aviv beach. The restaurant has the charming setting of the courtyards of old houses. Sink into Herod’s superbly comfortable and spacious armchairs, settees and bedrooms.

While providing a grand sense of the 1930s, Herods Tel Aviv hotel also has every modern convenience. Take advantage of the fitness center, spa and large swimming pool. Hold your business meetings in one of two exclusive business lounges on the 17th floor with all office services to hand, or in elegant meeting rooms. Enjoy the excellent beach that’s on your doorstep.

Herods’ location in central Tel Aviv gives you rapid access to many of the city’s points of interest: the shopping around Ben Yehuda and Dizengoff Streets, the nightlife of Tel Aviv Port and Neveh Tzedek, the beauty of Jaffa, and much more.

If you’re jaded with standard hotels, Herods Tel Aviv hotel offers you a refreshing blend of something old and something new.

At Herods you have the dual advantage of being located at the center of city life and also staying in a unique ‘one of a kind’ hotel. In Tel Aviv there’s no other ‘concept’ hotel to match Herods.

When you step outside, everything is conveniently close. The beach is directly in front of you with the sea promenade on one side and the Tel Aviv Marina and Tel Aviv Port on the other. It’s an easy walk to the shops and cafes along Ben Yehuda, Dizengoff and Ibn Gabirol Streets. Other colorful places such as Jaffa, Neve Tzedek and the Carmel Market are a short ride away.

It’s easy to understand why Herods stands out in the 5-star class.

Reaching the Hotel (from Ben Gurion Airport)

Here are some useful tips to help you reach the Leonardo Basel Hotel:

By Taxi
Taxis cost around 150 NIS (ca. 30€) from Ben Gurion airport to the hotel.

By Rental Car
It’s wise to rent a GPS too. Type in Tel Aviv – Hayarkon Street – 156. The way into Tel Aviv takes you along Route 20. You’ll exit at the HaShalom interchange, before continuing along Kaplan Street, then into Ibn Gabirol Street. You’ll continue into Frishman Street and finally Hayarkon Street.

By Train
Take the train to Tel Aviv Savidor Mercaz station. From there take a taxi or bus No. 61/55 to the hotel. Trains run every hour and the train journey is around 15 minutes.

By Bus
It’s feasible to take the bus from the airport but not advisable – because you’d need to take three different buses and spend a lot of time waiting. Better to use other forms of transport.

(these directions are the same as for the Leonardo Basel hotel, which is almost next door – Mike)
